Garry is an experienced British Trust for Ornithology (BTO) bird ringing trainer. He first became involved with coastal wader ringing during visits to the mudflats at Friskney, north of the Wash, between 1985-1997. He has been a member of Humber Wader Ringing Group since 2009 and has been Group Leader since 2018
Lucas has been ringing with the Humber Wader Ringing Group since 2005. He works for the University of Hull as a bird ecologist while undertaking a PhD with the BTO and the HWRG. His PhD study examines individual over-wintering strategies of Curlew around the Humber Estuary, with particular focus on the use of re-created intertidal areas. Lucas has taken a more active role in the group over the last two field seasons with the planning and coordination of catches.
Based in Sheffield, Chris gained his A ringing permit in 2012 but is still learning. He became HWRG treasurer in 2019 and is also responsible for this website and quite enjoys playing with spreadsheets.
Ian has been a member of Humber Wader Ringing Group since its formation in 2003, taking over Data Management in 2009 and becoming Secretary in 2018. He has been an A permit holder since 2004. As well as ringing on the Humber Estuary he is heavily involved in ringing and survey work in cooperation with the Forestry Commission in North Yorkshire, and is the Chair of Trustees for a local nature reserve near York.
